Harris County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody or release, release anyone, post bond, or pull official booking records. For an authoritative answer, contact the government office that holds the record.
Where Harris County Records Live
The official contact depends on the question. Harris County Jail and the Harris County Sheriff's Office handle local adult custody and booking records. Court Services and the Clerk of Superior Court handle warrant and case information. The newer HCSO records material lists a weekday window of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call before visiting because a public web link, an office counter, and a records custodian do different jobs.

Choose the Right Lookup
Use the following routing list to match the question to the office or system that can answer it. A booking record is not the same as a current roster entry, and a court case is not the same as either one.
- For a just-booked adult or current Harris County custody question, start with the HCSO inmate link and then call 706-628-4211. The official public inmate endpoint was displaying a “Please check back later for updates” message when checked, so it should not be treated as a working roster.
- For a booking record or original booking photograph, use the HCSO open-records path and the county form. Give the full name, approximate date, arresting agency, and booking or case number if known, and ask for electronic delivery where practicable.
- For a warrant question, use Most Wanted Fugitives for the county check path, then contact HCSO or Court Services. The Clerk's case search can add context but cannot certify that a warrant is active.
- For a court case, hearing, or final disposition, use the Harris County Clerk and its criminal division. The court record is where an accusation may be changed, dismissed, resolved, or otherwise concluded.
- For a person sentenced to Georgia state custody, use the GDC offender search. GDC is separate from Harris County Jail and covers state offenders, not a new county booking.
- For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator. For immigration custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator. Neither locator is a Harris County booking roster.
Questions about how to compare these sources are answered in the county-wide search and booking record page. Charges shown at intake are accusations, not proof of guilt, and a person is presumed innocent until the court reaches a disposition.
