Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice takes effect on August 17, 2026. It covers what Harris County Busted Mugshots receives when you browse, search, or send messages. It also explains how that information gets used and shared. Using the service means you accept these practices. One thing never changes: the official records stay where they belong. They remain with the agency, court, or locator that publishes them, and nothing here alters that.

Information You Choose to Send

Search Queries

Search-box entries go straight to the third-party provider running that feature. This site keeps nothing on its own system. Those terms are never logged locally. Once the request reaches the provider, that company's own privacy notice and retention rules take over.

Messages and Contact Details

Emails and contact messages work differently. If you send one, the message and its details are kept on file so a reply can go out, a request can be understood, or a problem can be fixed. Those messages stay inside the organization. The only exception is when the law or a valid legal demand requires disclosure.

Technical Data and Cookies

Server and analytics systems record technical data each time a page loads. That data keeps the service running, measures use, and helps locate faults. It can include:

  • Internet Protocol address;
  • browser name and version;
  • device type and operating system;
  • pages viewed and the time spent on them;
  • the referring site, when a referral is supplied; and
  • request and page-load timestamps.

Cookie Choices

Cookies and similar storage may track how visitors move through the pages, keep a feature working, or support measurement. Your browser settings can block or delete them. Blocking cookies might change how some features behave. Even so, no browser setting turns an unofficial page into an official source of records.

How Information Is Used

Information gathered this way serves ordinary operations of the service. Nothing about it is used to build or maintain a Harris County jail roster here.

  • keep pages available and improve load speed;
  • send a search request to the partner selected for that tool;
  • understand which pages are useful to visitors;
  • diagnose errors, abuse, and technical failures; and
  • display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.

Links, Partners, and Advertising

Outbound links lead to the Harris County Jail, the HCSO led by Sheriff Mike Jolley, Court Services, the Clerk, and the Georgia Department of Corrections, plus federal locators and outside search services. Follow any of those links and you leave this site. The destination's privacy terms then govern what gets collected. None of those systems answer to Harris County Busted Mugshots. Advertising partners run on their own systems. They may use their own cookies or similar tools. These measure activity across sites and help select ads. County agencies named in the records material have no control over that activity.

Possible Recipients

Harris County Busted Mugshots does not sell personal information. Still, it can reach certain parties when you use a related feature or when disclosure is legally required:

  • search partners that receive terms entered into their search tools;
  • analytics providers that measure page use;
  • advertising networks and their service providers; and
  • law-enforcement or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order.

Reasonable Security Measures

Information handled directly by the service sits behind standard safeguards. Access goes only to people or vendors who need it for the stated purpose. No internet-connected system is fully secure, of course. These protections are best-effort measures. They are not a guarantee against every breach, nor a promise that transmission always stays private.

Visitors Under 18

The service is built for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Should a minor submit information anyway, a parent or guardian can use Contact Us to request deletion. Identify the information involved, but leave out sensitive details the request does not need.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on what information is held and which law applies, a visitor may ask the service to:

  • provide a copy of personal data held directly by the service;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • delete information that no longer needs to be kept; or
  • stop or limit a type of processing where an opt-out is available.

Rights requests go through Contact Us. Give enough detail to find the message or data in question. Some records may still be kept after a request, though. The law can require retention, or retention may be needed to protect the service.

Changes to This Notice

This notice can change. Shifts in the service, its tools, or its legal duties may prompt an update. Any new version gets posted right here with a fresh effective date. Keep using the service after an update, and the revised practices apply from that date forward.
